Hey! I've been here 3 weeks now! Ha!

I don't mind them, in small quantities... I've only heard 2 'songs' off of Frances The Mute, one of the biggest headf**ks i've ever heard. Televators is great.

You've got to be joking...Frances The Mute IMO is their best album..

Frances 05-02-2006 11:50 PM

Frances the Mute IS their best. Takes a little more to get into.

idowhatiamtold 05-03-2006 12:29 PM

De-Loused is my favorite album also, but the others are crazy too, very trippy but structured in a way. crazy stuff.

Mr Sensitive 05-03-2006 12:45 PM

I'm torn between Francis and De-Loused, I can't decide which one I like the most.

Tremulant, and Scabdates are awesome too.

AprilMay 05-03-2006 01:16 PM

I love Frances the Mute, a great album as a whole. However it doesn't sound too great on mp3 players shuffle lists.
Definately an album to take some time out to listen to, if you like that sort of thing.x

Sneer 05-03-2006 01:34 PM

i think they've tried to be a bit too clever with Frances the Mute, at times it is a little too "progressive" and that can alienate fans. Personally i believe De-loused is a much better album. its songs are more distinctive, it has a better structure, and i generally think its a stronger effort than its follow-up.

Now I agree with you :)

Sneer 05-03-2006 01:41 PM

i was trying to be tactful but yes "boring" pretty much sums it up in one word quite accurately.

IamAlejo 05-03-2006 01:47 PM

deloused is much better than frances in my opinion

has anyone seen them live? interesting show?

Play Dough Fable Figure 05-03-2006 05:52 PM

personally, i like at the drive in a lot more, but the mars volta is good. televators and son et lumiere/inertiatic esp are my favorites.

Laces Out Dan! 05-03-2006 08:57 PM

^ Those songs transition Brilliantly...and Frances just takes longer to get into...Its more progressive in parts but definetly not more boring...as a prog fan Frances is a fantastic album...as is De-Loused..for the first few months of listening to TMV i liekd De-Loused more...Frances grabbed me, pulled me in, and hasnt let me back out

I Agree, and I like it in here.

Laces Out Dan! 05-05-2006 05:49 PM

smallz 05-05-2006 06:29 PM

They are absolutely incredible live... word is they're coming with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to my town. Oooh, I hope it's true!

Frances 05-05-2006 11:36 PM

Kadakron 05-15-2006 06:46 PM

Can't stand them.

Laces Out Dan! 05-15-2006 07:52 PM

^ Yeah well....you live in Ontario..

jambo 05-16-2006 10:41 AM

Mars Volta is pretty good, however At the Drive-In...soooo much better, they had all the intensity without dragging their songs out past ten minutes. Deloused is really good though.

It's not that. I just know what I like. And I find TMV to be unlistenable.

Laces Out Dan! 05-16-2006 04:44 PM

what do you listen to?

Kadakron 05-16-2006 04:47 PM

A wide variety of music. Classical, jazz, etc. Most of the time however, I listen to electronica/trance and alternative.

Frances 05-18-2006 04:36 AM

Yeah! bumpety Bump!

I love this band!!!!!!!
Sure you all know by now, but I'm drunk so I'm tellin you f***ers again,
this band ROCKS! Go buy all their stuff right now.

one_more_atrocity 05-18-2006 04:47 AM

love mars volta, just hoped they would tour over here but i dont really think that thats going to happen :( the main reason is because thats the closest i would probably get to seeing At the drive-inwho are just sex for the ears lol! :)

Laces Out Dan! 05-18-2006 05:02 PM

They playing not too far from where i live in September i think...But they're touring with RHCP and i dont know if i could sit through like 13 RHCP tracks just to hear like 2 or 3 TMV songs....its very intrigueing though

Kadakron 05-18-2006 08:18 PM

WHA!?!?

RHCP are soooo much better then TMV.

Subjective.

I think RHCP are better, but then again they are two completely different bands.
