Nah, not really.... They have had their different periods, throughout the past 25 something years... Call me a fanboy, but i know a lot of their songs by heart.

That and i consider Blood Sugar Sex Magik to be one of the best albums of the 90s.

You know i`ve been trying to work out why I dislike Frances The Mute and I think i`ve finally got it.And this is going to be possibly the strangest analagy I have ever used........


Think of the Mars Volta as the ingredients of a cake. Well they make some cakes using those ingredients and the first time you taste them they taste totally unlike anything you`ve ever tasted before and is absolutly wonderful.

The second time they use those same ingredients to make a big cake instead of lots of little ones. But it tastes the same it`s just one big cake instead of lots of little ones and you`ve already tasted it before and because it`s so big it`s a little hard to swallow.And you end up disappointed because you wanted different cakes just as different and as good as the first lot.

Soo.. an Update..Jon theodore has now officially left the band. The man who is taking the place is a man named blake fleming. He was the drummer for the very first TMV demos back in the day...hes got some big shoes to fill.

I was thinking about it because i would like nothing more than to see The Mars Volta live...but one thing i never ever wanna do is sit through 2 hours of RHCP before i get maybe 2 tracks from TMV

RHCP and TMV are gonna be in a city in my state within the next two months... (can't remember which city) It'd be cool to see TMV live but RHCP is just a bit annoying to me sometimes. Wouldn't be worth it to go to a two-band concert and only like one.

RHCP are IMO one of the worst bands to make an album this year..they need to stop making music..its gettin progressivly worse....and yes thats the reason im not going to see my absolute favourite band...because sitting through a RHCP concert would make me pray for cancer

Ive always hated RHCP...and now they're even more fucking horrible

I'm gonna see RHCP with special guests Mars Volta.

Their downfall was that Zepher album. It was mind achingly disappointing to say the least. Stadium Arcadium is a step up from that.

The way I see it. Stadium Arcadium was dragged on for way to long. And the one song that I found really good isn't even them. It's Tom Petty.

I love "The Widow"...but it cut's out at the end on my iPod...damn apple.

That's the song I like the most.

The Widow is a great song but on the cd towards the end there's nothing but instrumental. I can always fall asleep to the song but I also always wake up because of the ending. It makes me wanna dance or something.
I definitely prefer Deloused Cormatorium to Frances the Mute.

And I almost absolutely refuse to buy Stadium Arcadium. I feel as though it would be a waste of money. But i'll burn it off my friend who practically worships RHCP :)

I love instrumental. Not instrumental ****, mind you. But I love instrumental.

I don't mind the instrumentals to most Mars Volta songs it's just that instrumentals in this particular song almost always make me wanna dance.
Where as they the beginning of the song makes me think of Edgar Allen Poe type things. So the instrumentals at the end seem like such a contrast.

I find them much to cheesy.
