Waters "dissolved" the band, actually

Gilmour restarted it

so i don't think there was a case of "kicking out" or "leaving" - it was one man who thought the band ended, and another who thought it didn't

I think that's why The Wall gets a lot of flak though. They aren't listening to it for the music strictly. Personal issues with band members shouldn't make people dislike the music they create.

i voted ummagumma but i think of it more as a collection than a regular release. the live disc is by far my favorite. other than that id have to split a tie between piper and dark side, what acid man did vs what acid man wanted to do. the prism is the band of pink floyd and the white light is syd barrets vision. dark side is the colours

My favourite is definitely The Wall, without question.

Ignoring the fact that it's basically one massive ego stroke for Roger, it has a beautiful storyline.

A few of my favourite tracks: "Young Lust", "One of My Turns", "The Trial"

I think Raving & Drooling (an embryo version of Dogs), was included in the Wish You Were Here re-release?

I voted dark side of the moon. I am however surprised that saucerful of secrets only has 1 vote. It is actually a pretty good album, which i prefer to Piper. It just has a darker vibe and a more progressive eastern feel. 'Let there be more light' and 'set the controls for the heart of the sun' being prime examples.

I am with you!

My answer tends to change according to my mood, but (today) I voted for Animals.

Dark Side of The Moon and The Wall also get best album status in my book.

Saucerful is pretty underrated compared to Piper. The spacey sonic textures in particular are great, although the lyrics still need a little working on. For that I'd say Piper was much better in the lyrical department with Syd's whimsical nursery rhyme stylings trumping the trippy but kind of empty lyrics of Saucerful. At times I think the lyrics throughout that album were more for their feel and sound rather than their actual meaning. (Which wouldn't be the last time Floyd did that)
