If you can't appreciate Welcome to the Machine, Wish You Were Here, and Have a Cigar then there's no hope for you. Not only are they brilliant songs, albeit very dark, but the production is unreal.

When was the last time you listened to WTTM really loud on headphones? My God. People rave about Radiohead and yet that haven't come close to anything like that. Humphries is amazing.

I guess that's true.

Oh ja, they were certainly masters of production, even when the music was terrible.

Probably a year ago? Idk I don't keep track of that kind of thing but I've certainly heard it enough times to know that my opinion is valid.

Oh, and Radiohead sucks ass, but that's nothing to do with Floyd.

We all have opinions. We also all wipe our asses. It's all good.

Kid A is better than Wish You Were Here.

I've had Breathe going through my head for days now. I even wake up in the middle of the night with it going through my head.

Did you know how Waters got all of the spoken word stuff on the album? He wrote all of the phrases down on cue cards and then had random people read them while being recorded.

If I remember right the "I was quite drunk at the time" bit was the doorman at the hotel the band was staying at, at the time.

I wonder if they got paid. The person who said "cruisin for a bruisin" is pretty famous by now!

Piper's my favourite for the sheer energy, joy and kaleidoscope of sounds.
It still sounds as marvelous and fresh as it did all those years ago back in '69 when as schoolboys we scraped together 50 quid to buy stereo systems and wack on Astronomy Domine at near full volume on the headphones.
What a journey that album is!
