Anyone watched the oliver stone movie on the doors, If not I recommend it. It really gives you a perspective on the band and Morrison's life. The doors are really unique, and I agree underrated. They are not my favorite band my no means, but I can appreciate them. I bought the legacy cds a long time ago, which kick ass. Light my fire, The end, Love Me 2 Times, When the Music's over, Spanish Caravan, Roadhouse Blues, Love Her Madly, *L.A. Woman*, Riders On The Storm, all kick ass. Riders on the storm is my favorite for sure, the lyrics: "into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown, like a dog without a bone and actor out alone" are purely amazing and so true. Morrison would have done well as just a poet, let alone a musician. People who dis the doors suck.

If you like the doors you should check out Days Of The New. The doors was their main influence and they are one of my favorite bands. They only put out 3 albums, because their lead singer/ guitarist was a crackhead and fired the rest of the band after their debut album, but nonetheless they kick ass. Check out touch peel and stand, shelf in the room, the downtown and face of the earth, and enemy. Enemy has an amazing acoustical solo at the end of it. They are like an acoustical doors minus the keyboards...

I grew up listening to The Doors. I thought for the longest time that they were the greatest band ever...I was young. I do like them..a lot and I do recommend that everyone should at least give them a shot...and dont write them off because people think they are "overrated". And the movie with Meg Ryan and Val Kilmer was a great great movie. Check it out.
Days of the New has an awesome feel to their music..its nothing spectacular but its good..its post grunge but entirely underated.

Not the greatest band ever, but certainly one of the best. Their music was unique and ground-breaking.
Too bad Morrison crashed and burned. If he had lived, I believe the Doors probably would've had a few more good years. Unfortunately, without him, they just weren't the Doors.
