Metal is so many things and spans the entire divide between accessible, poppy metarial and difficult, challenging music. There are so many vocal styles, not just growling, barking and other theatrical affectations.

Metal is so many things and spans the entire divide between accessible, poppy metarial and difficult, challenging music. Seriously.

Ja this is what we're talking about when we call you ignorant. Contrived is super subjective so your ignorant ass can have that (making any effort to make noise with your voice is contrived in itself), but thinking that metal is poppy on a large scale is absurd.

I think that it's not only a coincidence but an anomaly.

Yes. My general experience has been that metalheads tend to be virulently anti-pop. Even sort of narrowminded about things that are not metal.

Yet another thing that makes elph's vehement anti-metal stance more ironic. It's not even that he doesn't like metal, it's the corny and dishonest way he does it.

It's like he's waiting for Joe Strummer to walk up, clap him on the shoulder, and say "Good show, old boy."
