I don't know too much about punk, but from those you listed I like Something Corporate, Green Day, and Puddle of Mudd.

Since you have just got into the so called "punk scene" I won't say anything about the bands you have listed. But Blink 182 nor any of the bands you have listed are punk bands. They are what you call "pop punk." Real punk bands are bands like The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Casualties, Anti-Flag, and tons more. Most punk bands you won't see on tv or the radio, you should check some of the ones I named out. Hope this helped. ;)

I wouldn't have said they were really punk bands either, I guess. The only real punk band I've heard music from was NOFX. They're punk, right? :D It's been a while.

Nofx is more punk than Blink-182, I guess Nofx is pretty cool, not my favorite band though. LOL.

Really? I saw glassjaw on warped tour (which the way is defenitely gonna SUCK this year) and they were real good. But different strokes for different folks.

That sucks, I was looking foward to it, maybe two or three good bands will go, lots of times I only watch two or three anyway, I go for the free stuff, and hot girls :)

haha, there is always hot girls. Its fun, most people have to go out of town to see it, but Warped tour always comes to my town

well your dumb, those bands are not punk, there crap on a stick! They suck so much. Not being mean or anything, just being honest with you. If you want to check some really cool punk bands, listen to Tsunami Bomb, Strike Anywhere, The Casualties, Bouncing Souls, Dead Kennedys, Stiff Little Fingers, ect. Chewck out that mess, its pretty freaking awesome stuff.

I think NOFX is really cool...the guys their have awesome attitudes.

Out of what you listed, I like Blink...they are all about just having fuin with what they do.

Yeah, if you want real punk from back in the real punk days, check out reagan youth, tsol, and social unrest. Those are good, then read who they thank in the cds and buy those records. oh and warped will be a hell of a lot better than last year. I don't know what you guys are talking about.A*D*D*

some good bands will be there like Rufio and taking Back Sunday...those were just two that caught my eye

The sex Pistols.The broke the way for any 'Punk' band today and IMO sounded better than half of the rubbish produced now.

That's only half true. The sex pistols, as I'm sure you all know, weren't really a band that some friends started. They were actually started by a guy who owned a fashion boutique type deal in Englan. He was looking to start something new, and he pulled in a poor kid off the street, put him in spikes and their is your punk rock. There were plenty of other bands playing before the sex pistols that constitue punk though. CBGB was even kicking before them.

Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes is a classic. I am not especially a punk fan, but this band cannot be denied.

I have to agree with you here. They are the originals and they have led the way for so many punk bands throughout the years.

The Sex Pistols didnt lead the way for ****, they're a bunch of ****ing drug addict sellouts.

The only I like out of the list you gave was green day. Not much of a fan with the other bands you listed. I think Strike Anywhere is a really good band.

Do any of you people know any strike anywhere bass tabs? because i'm having a hard time finding some, so if you could please send them to my email.

I'm a little late on this topic but Rise Against is my favorite band of all time!

Good punk bands:Rise Against(sorta hardcore but who cares), Anti-Flag, Propaghandi, Against All Authority, Sick Of It All, Whatever It Takes, Intro5pect, Endless Struggle, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Casualties, Sub-Humans, ZSK, The Damned, Siouxi and the Banshees...the list goes on and on...

then only bands there that are punk is greenday and something corperate

Everyone has their own opinion on what is and what is not punk. In my opinion Greenday and Something Corperate is not punk. Punk bands, in my opinion =) are bands like Anti-flag, GG Allin, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Misfits, Social Distortion, etc...

Truly a list of bands that "i want kids at school to think I'm a punk rock kid"....not denying the music, just sayin that is what kids think is "cool as punk" since bands like blink and others have been shot down. With the exception of Social distortion, i feel that way strongly.

I dont want kids at school to think im a punk rock kid or whatever, I just like those bands, and listen to them, so I listed them... I understand what your saying, but that is not the situation here =) I like other bands those just popped into my head...

O my fault, I didn't want you to take it like that. I'm just saying more and more "punk rock kids" are listening to those bands when there is more than just a "few" great punk bands out there. The best way to find good music is checking out the local scene (depending on where you live)

i was simply refering to the bands that were named, they are the closest to punk that were there.

Bad thing that they are listening to them? Half the kids who say they "like" the ramones, misfits, sex pistols, or anti-flag couldn't name you 5 songs by each artist if they tried. punk is become more of a fashion than a type of music, that is why it's best to stick to local bands who are just there because they like playing the music.
