How is that spam? He's just sharing with other people about his band. This is a punk recommendation thread, isn't it? Then why can't he recommend us to listen to his band (for free). Forgot the name already...

Once you have been here a while. If everyone was allowed to start just pimping there stuff then this forum would be full of bloggers/musicians forcibly shoving music down our collective throats.

You really need an explanation for why we don't allow spam? The owners of the site, the mod team and, as far as I know, every member except for you generally agree that we don't want a site that's clogged up with bunch of advertising. Why? Because it's annoying as hell and detracts from the community. As RezZ indicated, if someone has been here a while and actually participates in the site we're fine with them posting a link to their band or whatever. But some jackass drive-by poster who pops in for the express purpose of advertising is nothing but a piece of the collective spamming nuisance.
