Nothing against Lydon, PIL are great.
Also: Who cares what McCartney thinks? Certainly not me.

He knows a thing or two about songcraft though. And Anarchy in the UK is a really beautiful song

Though if you find that all the Stooges have to offer is energy I guess we just hear things differently and that's okay

I meant that stuff like Ramones and Sex Pistols would be mostly about energy for me, something which I just don't feel about them. As for the Stooges, I love the energy but the vocals, instruments and overall songwriting are all top-notch for me.

I'll relisten to Anarchy later on, I'd love to love it but so far I just don't.
Edit: Done that. It's...okay...

“Paul [McCartney] would check into a hotel using the name PAUL RAMON. Dee Dee was a big fan, so he changed his name to Dee Dee Ramone. We decided to call the band the Ramones.” - Joey Ramone

To be fair, I don't know that he said anything about breaking up with her.

Damn, if they haven't, then I struggle to imagine the level of toxicity.

nah, there's plenty of bands that do that.

It's just a brand for the Stooges fans to say that stooges are so energetic.

They're like every other punk/rock band that "didn't give a **** about the government" (and made it their style) from the 60s-80s.

Some of their songs do seem "prophetic" of the punk that was to come, but overall, they're pretty damn bad.
