Default Dead Prez

What do you people think of Dead Prez? Personally, I think that they may have some valid problems with American society but they are expressing them the wrong way. All this talk about murdering the President from Dead Prez isn't helping black people any. I think the best 'revolutionary' rappers are The Coup because they realise they have to solve the basic needs of Black people before they talk about ruling the country. It's hard for someone to become President when they're starving or unemployed. Musically I find Dead Prez bland and uninteresting. Their rhymes have no flair and whilst they get the message across they never make you want to rewind to here something again.
What do you people think?

BUMP

I just downloaded one of their cd's. It's alright nothing special, kinda like watered down Immortal Technique.

I like their RBG album the most I think.
My favorite song off that album has gotta be I Have a Dream, and if not that then Pimp the System.

The first album I bought by them was Let's Get Free and Mind Sex is one of my favorite songs of all time.

And that's about it. . .

Oh and a while back I heard a song by them called Real Black Girl which I think was nice.

Dead Prez are two dudes that feel they need to make a stand against the government beacuse of the problems that blacks are having... Fact is, no one is really benefiting from the government so their point holds little weight, hence the reason their record sales are laughable...

They got some dope **** on 'Let's Get Free' (as far as music goes)... The song 'They Schools' has some strong emotion behind it... But if you listen to the track M1 pretty much says Blacks in the Inner City don't need school to be a doctor or a dentist..lol. How many freelance doctors do you know? EXACTLY..

Another track of theirs called Propaganda (on the Let's Get Free LP) is worth a spin...

Peace...

Well . . as a very devout Dead Prez fan, I feel I must defend them a little.
One of the reasons their record sales may be low is because not too many people. Especially once you get out into the more suburban areas.

And the American government has been oppressing all people. The fact is Dead prez can only identify with the oppression faced by black americans because they are black. I would hardly expect them to rap about what it's like being Asian growing up in say South Philadelphia, PA because they dont' know what that is like.

And I have no comment for the song They Schools. And I can think of plenty of countries where it is possible to have no college education and be successful. I know because my grandmom didn't go to college or high school and runs her own business.

Ok well let's just say you contradict urself a bit in ur post, and i'm not trying to come at you sideways here... I understand the fact that Dead Prez is voicing their 'opions/facts' about how the government oppresses black ppl, cuz they are black...

So why would they say you don't need to get educated to be a doctor or a dentist if that **** doesn't apply to where they live?? They live in the U.S and they're sending a wack ass message to inner-city youths... Lack of education is one of the most serious reasons why blacks have such a high teenage pregnancy rate and why 17 years olds are on the block at 4 in the morning sticking their brethren up for a pair of Air Force 1's...

Their message is a bit warped!

Peace...
