Yeah my list would be:
Ice Cube
Dr. Dre
Eazy E

But it's pretty close between Cube and Dre.

Ice Cube is the best rapper of the three. AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Kill At Will, and Death Certificate are far better than anything Eazy-E put out as a solo artist. Frankly, those albums are better lyrically than Straight Outta Compton.

Obviously, Dre has had more of an impact on hip-hop in general because of his production work. When you consider Straight Outta Compton, No One Can Do It Better, Livin' Like Hustlers, efiL4zaggiN, The Chronic, DoggyStyle, and finally (Chronic) 2001 (I guess you could include Relapse)...yeah, Dre has to come first. But there is no comparison between Ice Cube's and Eazy-E's solo work.

Captain Awesome 03-25-2010 05:08 PM

Best rapper out of the three? Ice Cube hands down (and even he isn't that good). Dre never wrote a line in his life and eazy e was boring (imo).

Producer? Dre hands down.

Insane Guest 03-25-2010 08:47 PM

Eazy E is good, but Dr. Dre's solo work is just good. Coming from someone who like Rock, without one rap song on iPod, Dr. Dre is one of the few rappers I could actually stand to listen to. Pretty good beats, and catchy rhythms.

overdoser 04-01-2010 11:51 PM

I can't believe Eazy-E is failing.... He's great. His story and everything is awesome! He didn't even plan on rapping.

MAStudent 04-11-2010 02:12 AM

Since the topic is:

Dr. Dre Vs. Ice Cube Vs. Eazy-E
without any qualifications, I will probably agere with most people here and explain.

Dr Dre: Vocally, he is terrible. His tone and delivery aren't catchy, he rhymes awkwardly, and his words seem stiff.
If "gansta" matters, since I guess it is gansta rap, what he had to do to get away from Eazy E and to get away from Suge Knight were pretty raw.
As a producer and as a business man, he is a ****in Icon. He has created some of the best rap beats and music ever. Period.

Easy E: Vocally, he is awesome. His voice made girls cream in their pants. He didn't do many vocal gymnastics like Eminem, E40, or Busta Rhymes, but he had a comfortable smooth delivery.
"Eazy E were ya ever caught slippin?
Hell Nah"
And he definitely put together an Empire also. Executive Producing Icon.

Most and then least favorite: Ice Cube.
Lyrically and vocally up there with the best. For a pudgy guy with a scowl, he wrote the lyrics to some songs that invented an era, changed music forever, and put other guys like Young MC and MC Hammer out of business.

"She's a straggler, struggler
Straight salami smuggler.
Every time I see the bitch
She's gettin uglier.
Last night she sucked my ****, now she's kissin little man.
Why'on't he suck my **** and lets cut out the middle man?"

"There he saw a lady that lived in a shoe
sold dope out the front
by the back marijuana grew
For a man that was really important
That lived up the street in a Air Jordan..."
etc

Amerikka's most wanted was awesome.

I stopped liking Ice Cube when he started saying he wanted to kill Sam. I was like, wait, I'm Sam. Guess I'll spend my $17 on something else Mr Cube.

Even still, I liked "You can do it put your back into it"

slimfire 04-11-2010 09:19 PM

2001 was dope but Chronic....not so good

TheChosenOne 05-16-2010 07:45 PM

It's tough, They are all tight, Can't decide between Dre and Ice Cube though.

Hank The Drifter 05-23-2010 10:08 AM

Dre for me based on the fact I don't care for Easy-E at all, Ice Cube is alright, but I like Dre's - The Chronic more than any of the other twos work.

kingmills38 07-30-2010 03:41 AM

dr.dre is the best

fritter 07-30-2010 11:04 AM

Ice Cube is the most talented rapper out of the three, and Eazy-E was one funny muthaphukka, but Dr. Dre is the single most influential person in the world of rap.

boo boo 07-31-2010 05:16 AM

Cube is obviously the true rapper of the group, superior lyrics and flow, but Dre is the producer and his beats are unbeatable. In terms of solo career I gotta go with Dre for the Chronic alone though Ice Cube has more good stuff in quantity obviously since Dre only releases an album every tenth of a century.

You have problems.

Sparky 08-01-2010 12:16 AM

boo boo i didn't even know you were down with hip hop

boo boo 08-02-2010 12:19 AM

Yeah. I don't know a lot about it but I've been getting into it. I started with the big stuff like Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Dr Dre, Biggie, Nas and I love it all but I've also been getting into DJ Shadow, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Company Flow, GZA, Deltron, Madlib, MF Doom and so on. Overall I've found that the genre has a lot to offer.

Davey Moore 08-03-2010 08:21 PM

Ice Cube made my favorite rap song, It Was a Good Day, sort of like a rap A Day in the Life, and don't give me sh*t, I know it's a comparison that's stretching it. And NWA was better than anything Dre did solo, and comparing a producer to a writer to a voice is really unfair, since Eazy was just a drug dealer whose friends thought he should rap a track and lo and behold, he wasn't bad.

Knowing nothing in life but to be legit.

Yogi 08-07-2010 09:59 PM

I love all three of these guys, but Ice Cube is my favorite of the three. Death Certificate is probably my second or third favorite rap album. Dr. Dre and Eazy-E are both great though, The Chronic is about my fifth favorite rap album. 2001 kinda sucks though in my opinion.

I know this isn't about him, but MC Ren was a pretty beast rapper at one time as well and didn't get the credit he deserved. He's still rapping today but he's really fallen off badly.

IWP 08-14-2010 05:43 PM

Dr. Dre ****s on the other two. The Chronic is my ****!

Dirty 10-18-2010 10:56 PM

Definetly Cube for me... The Chronic is awesome. I loved Snoop and Dre together (only time period Snoop was actually good). I give Dre props for his producing, but Ice Cube was writing most if not all of the rhymes and Dre could never write. Eazy E isn't really in the discussion for me cause Im pretty sure Cube wrote most of his rhymes and I don't think he was as talented as Dre and Cube. Plus because of his death he doesn't have the catalog of stuff the other two have

sweet_nothing 10-18-2010 11:19 PM

How do people prefer Dr. Dre to Ice Cube? The man can't even write his own lyrics. Ice Cube's stuff post NWA was better than Eazy E and Dr. Dre's combined. I mean Death Certificate, The Predator, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, not to mention his stuff with Da Lynch Mobb are amazing. I think you guys have been smoking too much chronic.

coco83 11-29-2010 04:25 PM

Dre

iMatt 12-02-2010 09:57 PM

I'd have to go with Eazy-E, mainly because

1) Dude's a legend
2) He's just as awesome as Dr. Dre & Ice Cube
3) Fo' Tha Love of Money
4) Real Compton City G's

Nuff said.

K-DUB 12-08-2010 11:31 AM

i gotta go with cube man even his new sh*t sounds fresh 2 me cuz

That may be true but he produces a lot more of his own stuf than Cube does. To me that counts for more.

Scarlett O'Hara 09-24-2012 06:52 PM

Eazy-E is classic, his lyrical style reminds me of B.I.G. I love his high pitched rapping haha!

You may not like what he stands for or what he raps about alot of the time, but he does have great delivery. Especially on his first two and Eminem Show.

His newer material though seems pretty weak to me.

Finally someone who agrees with me. I adore the MMLP but his new records are poor. It's like he has succumb to the pop music of today and incorporated it in.

Just wanted to point out that this post was in 2008. It is towards the end of 2012 now......

Halen 10-17-2012 07:52 PM

I love the 3 rappers, but Dr. Dre destroys them. The Chronic and 2001 are two of the best Rap albums of all time.

AM4PM2 10-21-2012 06:02 PM

Detox has been set for release for the last 10 years now. If it takes 10+ years to make an album, it better be a classic, because Dre's last album was garbage compared to the Original Chronic.

i know that there are Dre fanatics that will buy and support anything he does, just as eminem's little pop fans will buy and support anything he does. so they'll protest about Dre's last album, but fact is, its garbage! had a few cuts, but over all, its disposable garbage!

DUBSTER 10-26-2012 01:55 PM

I actually grew up with both DR. dre and Ice cube, and DR. DRE is DEFIANTLY one of my favorites. Most of his productions were sky rockets till now.

diceman1000 10-26-2012 03:37 PM

personally,

1. Dre

2. Cube

3. Eazy

as far as today's rappers go... i'll take ANY of them white boys outta Middle Tennessee over Eminem or 50 any day...

now, don't get me wrong, Em was the **** in his day, but he hasn't had a damn thing worth listening to since The Eminem Show...

gimme Jelly Roll, Young Worm, J Bo, Yard Call, or Stak Mak over ANY mainstream rapper today

Agreed. The Eminem show was imo one of the best albums of all time. But even his next one was significantly worse. Now it almost seems like a joke. Occasionally a song will come out that I dont mind hearing but its not the same as hearing anything off those first three albums.

Slight exaggeration there.

JustJunMC 11-06-2012 02:58 PM

I would go with Dre. I liked his westcoast laid back funk and gangsta ish more though

Franco Pepe Kalle 11-06-2012 03:22 PM

I am going with Ice Cube. He is the most realist man and he has great skills as a MC. Ice Cube.

But if i had to chose best at raping i would have to choose Ice Cube but hes not that much better than Dre or Eazy-E.

hahaha at this year detox.

Ty_Makes_Beats 11-06-2012 05:38 PM

Eazy e did not write his music and sure dre made great album with ghost writers and possibly producers I say Ice Cube.

It's tough, I used to be a bit of a Dre fanboy, but Ice Cube is probably the better lyricist. Probably go for Dre though.

Dre = beats
Ice Cube = lyrics
Eazy E = image

It's widely known Dre doesn't write his own lyrics but he's a legend as a producer.
