Any opinions on the album entitled 'The W'? I just ordered it.

One of their better albums is probably Disciples of the 36 Chambers |

Yeah disciples of the 36 chambers is impressive!
|

As good as that cd is, I truly love some songs on it, I honestly find myself only liking about 4 or 5 songs that I can constantly listen to. The rest just don't do it for me at all.
*has anyone else ever heard Rage's Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothing Da **** With? It's pretty decent. |

RATM? No, I know they covered Cypress Hill-How I Could Just Kill A Man, but I didn't know they did that one. |
yea, Rage Against the Machine. I was pretty Raged out at the time I first heard it. My school had just gone through a run of nothing but wage. Nevertheless it wasn't terrible.
|
Ghost, Rza, Gza, and Rae...
|
im pretty sure that wu tang clan is the greatest band of any genre of all time.
don't argue, you'd just be wrong. |
eh, as much of a wu fan i am. They really only had one solid album.
I still love meth to death though <3 tical |
36 chambers, wu tang forever, and iron flag disprove your argument. bam, just like that.
|
i really only enjoyed 36 chambers.
Truss' me im no wu hater, just after a while they turned into more of a gimmick then anything. I prefer the artists solo stuff. Fishcale, Tical, Only built 4 where all in my opinion better then any wu tang album |
oh yeah, the solo music i sorta associate with wu anyway.
but its pretty hard to deny that wu haven't ever released a bad album. sure, the w isnt nearly as great as 36 chambers, but wu forever and iron flag are incredible, and the rounds of solo albums that come out between them are all great. liquid swords, only built 4, return to tha 36, etc etc. good stuff. |
its hard for me to take them seriously after **** like Soul plane and How High(which they are making a sequel for-can you believe it?)
Meth still has one of the best flow's ever in rap in my opinion. |

Done and Done, its in the original post now.

Wu-Tang is pretty good.
|
I have to go with RZA. I am going out on a limb but I am going to, in my opinion, call him the best lyricist/producer ever. That cut in 4th chamber on the Liquid Swordz album was mind blowing.
|
Wu Tang just got permission to sample While My Guitar Gently Weeps for their new album. They're the first band to legally do this, go them.
|
Probably my favourite hip-hop group ever. They're amazing.
|
when's their new album coming out?
|
December 4th.
|
Clan in da front! Wu rules, Ghostface's Fishscale is damn good too, they still got it. Wu>G-Unit hands down
|
|
I love the RZA, Im really amped that Method, Raekwon and Ghostface all have verses in it. And that Erykah Badu is singing in it because I love her voice.

Raekwon has a new album coming out on March 8th and here is the video for the first single.
March 8th is going to be a sweet day. Raekwon's album AND LASERS. |
That video is awesome, not feelin the song so much though
|
RZA
Favourite song by Wu is probably: |
My favorites have to be Ghostface and RZA. Mostly because I've listened to more stuff from them than the others. I know I am missing out on a few classics from some of the other members but I will rectify that one day.
|
Faves have to be the RZA, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon and ODB of course. I really dig 8 Diagrams, 36 Chambers, Forever, etc. I actually have become accustomed to psyching up for the day by various Wu Tang songs. Sounds super sick in my 35 year old stereo cabinet haha
