The Wu

So who likes Wu Tang and thinks they had some of the best rappers? Who's yer fav- Raekwon, ODB, Ghostface, GZA, or RZA? Anyone like RZA's other group Gravediggaz?
My personal fav is Ghostface, everyone should pick up Supreme Clientele or Bulletproof Wallets.

Please don't post if you are just gonna talk about method man or redman (who isnt even Wu). Just cause they had a lame movie and a cheesy TV show doesn't make em good rappers. :bonkhead:

Ante_Up 01-05-2005 02:14 PM

Love the wu (no homo)...
Best group album- enter the 36 chambers
best solo albums- Ironman, Only Built For Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords, and Tical
i rate the wu as:
1. Ghostface
2. Reakwon
3. GZA
4. RZA
5. Method Man
6. OBD
7. Ins. Deck
8. U- God

and yes,,,,The Gravediggaz are sick...6 Feet Deep is my ****

hookers with machineguns 01-05-2005 02:21 PM

^ Yes!

GZA's Legend of the Liquid Sword is a good one, and "Only Built For Cuban Linx" is a MUST-Have for anyone who listens to rap. Immobilarity isn't that bad either.

dirt mcgirt 01-05-2005 06:07 PM

yo son i appreciate that sh*t.

hookers with machineguns 01-17-2005 10:38 AM

raekwon 'cuban linx 2' is coming out this coming year. if anyone hears about release dates, let me know

Ante_Up 01-17-2005 12:55 PM

yea...cant wait^^

is there any other wu releases thiis year?

hookers with machineguns 01-17-2005 04:23 PM

i think ODB Osiris came out not too long ago right?

Raine 01-18-2005 12:25 PM

I feel kinda sad because by the time Is tarted listening to rap, Wu Tang clan had been around for years.
And they were kinda commcercial in my area. STill are.

At any rate, my favorite album is: Iron Flag
My favorite song is: Maria
First album of theres I ever heard: The Swarm
My favorite rapper from the group would have to be Ghostgface Killah and Raekwon. And I think part of the reason I choose them is because of the fact that as solo artists they were just as successful as if they were still a part of Wu-Tang. Although I think I tend to lean more so towards Ghostface than Raekwon. Something about him.

And I am sorry but I have no respect for Red Man or Method Man for the simple fact that they used to host a show on MTV and I have a personal grudge against MTV

And last bit of news I hear about any of the memebrs was that a lot of them have songs featured in the Blade Trinity Soundtrack which just goes to show that they can still make hits and that tehy still have the potential and energy to still make good records. That's just my personal opinion about most artists who've been 'in the game' for a long time.
And I'm not talking about making albums for 5 years and then putting out a damn Greatest Hits CD.

And as a side note I think that ODB was a great/sufficient rapper. To say the least I like him more than I like Snoop. Now anyways. And I think I liked Wu-Tang Clan more than I liked NWA.

Peace out.

hookers with machineguns 01-18-2005 12:49 PM

^ Wow, I feel the same way bout Wu. Ghostface is definitely, lyrically, one of the best rappers, aside from his affiliation with Wu. Raekwon puts it down too, but I too slightly favor Ghostface. I also agree wiith your comment about Method and Red, so so true.

Ante_Up 01-18-2005 01:46 PM

i heard a new Reakwon joint today...Baggage Handlers...it was heat...definatly anticipating the new album

hookers with machineguns 01-18-2005 01:48 PM

^ I am too, but I was really disappointed with Lex Diamond story, but then again, I didnt listen to it in full. If ya got it, you should let me know what the good cuts from that album were so I can download them.

burnmonkey 01-18-2005 03:27 PM

Ya'll are crazy !!! Methodman doesn't qualify as a talented member of Wu-tang because he's on TV ?!?! Do any of you OWN 36 Chambers?

juggalodaewoo 01-18-2005 08:52 PM

i think Wu-Tang besides ICP and Twizted(sorry they're my favorite rap groups)is the best rap group out there first of all please dont give me that bull**** about Method Man not being in Wu-Tang. He caught attention off of his rhymes and sold many CD's before all the FOX *** **** which Method Man and Red Man did not want to do anymore because none of their ideas could be put in the show so Redman Specifically Method Man did not sell out The Greatest Cd Had to be 36 Chambers There are many J-Love mixtapes that are really good but that Cd tops them all my order starts out with Gza he has the best lyrical talent and can freestyle like a muthafacko so this is the rest of my order
1.Gza
2.Ghostface Killah
3.Method Man
4.ODB
5.Masta Killah
6.Raekwon
7.Inspectah Deck
8.Rza
9.U-God

juggalodaewoo 01-18-2005 08:52 PM

BurnMonkey thank you very much

hookers with machineguns 01-18-2005 10:36 PM

No one said Method wasnt in WU, I said redman wasn't (no sh*t). most dipsh*ts think method is the best rapper from wu, and they also think red is a wu member. But, regardless, method is horrible when he does sh*t with red, and i definitely wouldnt rate him above raekwon, odb, or rza.

burnmonkey 01-18-2005 10:41 PM

My list:
1. ODB
2. Killa preist
3. Ghostface killa
4. RZA
5. U-God
6. Method Man
7. Gza
8. Raekwon
9. Inspekta deck
10. Memory (if you really want to consider him a member)

burnmonkey 01-18-2005 10:53 PM

I'd agree that meth's stuff with redman is ....(fart noises), and I could also picture a boringly endless annoying thread of "I saw Methodman on the TV and....." if you didnt put that rule in effect, but someone from the oldschool has to represent. I aint tryin' to front cuz I put the Ooooold in oldscool my brotha (ow, my back!!!!)

hookers with machineguns 01-18-2005 11:48 PM

^ well I was hoping everyone who would post in here owned 36 chambers, and im assuming mostly everyone does, because that is the quitessential wu album. i know people who don't even like rap that own that cd. and with just cause.

Ante_Up 01-19-2005 03:00 PM

how come you guys got Raekwon so low on your list,,,do you own Cuban Linx

burnmonkey 01-19-2005 05:30 PM

ya' got me there.

Clay Aiken Is A Terrorist 01-20-2005 12:31 PM

man raekwon and ghostface are the two best rappers in the game right now, they should be at the top of everyones list. only prob is that pretty toney and lex diamond story both sucked.

ænima 01-21-2005 08:52 AM

i need to buy the new wu tang greatest hits cd

i used to have the wu chronicles

hookers with machineguns 01-22-2005 11:12 PM

you need to grab enter the 36 chambers and solo releases from ghostface, raekwon, odb, rza and gza. i'd say your rap collection would be half complete.

SATCHMO 06-15-2005 11:05 PM

Wu-tang Forever

Its time for another Wu-Tang thread. Who do you like, who don't you like, and is Raekwon's Only Built for Cuban Lynx Pt. II EVER going to be released?

Soundgardener 06-16-2005 09:31 AM

Gza, Raekwon, and Ghostface Killah have great solo music. Every track off Gza's Legend of the Liquid Sword is phenomenal.

Fenixpunk 06-16-2005 09:38 AM

i liked ODB, one of the grittiest rappers ive heard. Inspectah Deck and Method Man are ok in my book as well.

hookers with machineguns 06-16-2005 09:41 AM

I don't know when Cuban Linx 2 is actually supposed to be dropped, I found a 'tentative' track listing

Quote:

1. Still Striving (intro)
2. Mudd Time (Heatmakerz)
3. Criminology Rap (Rza) f/Ghostface
4. Stitches (Rza)
5. Blood On Chef's Apron (Rza) f/Ghostface & Masta Killa
6. In (MF Doom)
7. Geometry (Math) (Alchemist)
8. Farewell (skit)
9. Wu York Post (True Master) f/Ghostface, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna & Masta Killa
10. A Junkies Wife (Rza)
11. No love (skit)
12. Heart Attack (Mizza)
13. Just Enough (9th Wonder)
14. Bam Blam (Havoc) f/Busta Rhymes
15. Corny Ni**as (skit)
16. Lex & Rae f/Inspecta Deck
17. Skeletor (Alchemist) f/Ghostface
18. Before The Future (Crummie)
19. Knowledge God (reissue) (Rza)
20. IceVille (True Master) f/Ice Water Inc
21. Stitches Pt. 2 (Rza) f/Method Man & StreetLife
22. On My Way Back (Heatmakerz) f/Jagged Edge
23. Blood On Chef's Apron (outro)
It's kinda hard to believe that he's working with this many producers. All he really needs is Rza, and Ghostface dropping a verse on each track.

Legend of the Liquid Sword, Supreme Clientele, Enter the 36 Chambers, and the original Cuban Linx has been in heavy rotation in my CD player for years.

Fenixpunk 06-16-2005 09:44 AM

a quick question on a semi-related note:

why do most rap albums insist on having "skits"?

hookers with machineguns 06-16-2005 09:46 AM

It's okay when Rae does it. The Wu Tang skits are always funny.

Ante_Up 06-25-2005 09:11 PM

i heard a few tracks thats supposed to be on Only Built II,,,both sounded pretty gritty...
Rae is also supposed to be dropping a mixtape with Ill Bill called "Weed vs. Cocaine"

ghost is releasing an album with MF Doom

Method Man is also woprking on a new album that is all supposed to be produced by RZA

Yeah, The Wu-Tang Handbook. It just came out. I haven't bought it yet, but I did spend a long stretch reading it at a bookstore the other day, and its pretty cool.
