Do your parents like rap music?

My mom was born in 1951, and grew up in San Francisco's 60's psychedelic sector ;D

She loved The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and even Metallica.

I started listening to rap and hip-hop in the late 90s and into the early 00's at school. I didn't ever play hip-hop in front of her, even Deltron 3030. I went to college and got into hip-hop heavily, and returning to visit for the holidays, my then 9 year old nephew was teaching my mom the Soulja Boy dance /facepalm but I guess she's open-minded....

My parents don't listen to rap at all. I think they listen to pretty much everything but.

I have never met any parent that likes rap music much less play it in front of their kids.

People usually get into rap from either pop culture or friends.

My dad will like whatever I tell him to like, within reason, as long as I say I like it too... my mom... she'll just dance awkwardly to whatever is playing. I don't really know what kind of music she likes. I don't think she does either.

Neither of them really listen to music on any regular basis. I'm sure neither of them know about any mainstream band or artist that has come out in the past 30 years. When they talk about music, they talk about the 60s.

I know I cant stand Rap music so my parents would hate it too.How can you stand a form of music that dosnt value musicianship or singing?How many great guitarist or for that matter any musician can you name from the rap scene?Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters are both rolling in the grave over African American musicianships demise because of rap.
