Uh... Are you black? Cause, I don't think you can speak for people who are if you're clearly not.

Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

How many great bebop sax players are there in hip hop? NONE! That's cause hip hop is trash. Dexter Gordon and John Coltrane are probably doing backflips in their graves cause of how much rap music sucks.

I'm a father and I like Hip Hop (I don't like the word Rap personally) and it's rarely the mainstream crap drip fed to us by the mainstream either.

You can call it rap.
Rapping is what rappers do after all. Rap is the main focus of hip-hop today (as opposed to when it began and the DJ and the breakdancers were more important parts of hip-hop).

Oh and no my parents most definitely don't like it.

My personal feeling is that calling hip hop "rap" is the equivalent of calling hardcore "screaming".

Nice collection there. I like quite a bit of that stuff. What kid wouldn't what you for a father?

no. they think that rap music is not music, it's just a bunch of people talking about something instead of singing it.

my parents don even know what is rap music

my dad played a lot of 60s pop-rock when I was a baby - Beatles, Stones, Tommy James & The Shondells

and spaghetti western soundtracks

and Japanese pop

then when my brother was born, he switched to exclusively Chinese pop

kinda why I listen to all kinds of stuff now
