of course you are right. thats not the poit i was making. of course the writers of most popular rap are aware of other subject matters, they just dont write about them. You never hear for example, a political rick ross song and he is a very popular rapper

Absoultuely correct again, but if there is more to life why not write about it? for example, people get bored of Meek Mill always talking about his rolex. he is only now starting to realise that.

* You're apparently operating with a supposition that lyrics are supposed to capture some particular cross-section of life experiences. What's the support for the idea that that's what lyrics are supposed to be doing?

This is not the point i was making. So this point doesnt really apply. You dont have to write about any paticualr thing. its just interesting to me that a lot of "popular" rap is about the same kind of thing, where as popular indie explores a variety of themes that you nevr hear in hip hop. One being slef deprecation. its juts not cool to do that in hip hop, where you always have to say you are the best and no one is better than you, which is pretty silly.

I'm also guessing that maybe you're some sort of value objectivist. Value objectivism is factually errant.
