All I can say is that the position of the shapes creates a neato sorta 3D effect if you look at it for a few seconds and I like how the colors aren't totally solid and have texture but otherwise it's obtuse in the kind of way that seems smugly hostile to people without art degrees.

Is there a real school of thought about that kind of abstract art that explains why it isn't in fact "smugly hostile" or is it actually kind of smugly hostile? Not talking about abstract art in general but just... that kind of abstract art.
