Everything Went Numb, one of the best albums ever.
The new one is not as good but still pretty good.

Are they by-the-numbers heavy ska like Big D And The Kids table? As I think they are derivative pap.

Streetlight Manifesto is surley a damn good band! I love them. They are one of the very best ska bands I have ever heard. I love Everything Went Numb alot. Its a great album. There cover of Keasbey Nights was also very intriguing because after hearing Catch 22's so much I could pick out all the details and it surley amused me. Hahaha.

The new cd, ahhh, Somewhere In The Between. It was soo good. I love it dearly. I really loved Everything Went Numb, but Id have to hand it to the new album. SITB did top any of Streetlight's previous albums (not including Keasbey Nights).

I wanna see Streetlight Manifesto live!
and
ahahahaha
yeah, I have freaked out friends by knowing all the lyrics. Hahaha. I'm glad I am not the only one!

I have just heard a few tracks from their latest album. It's OK and technically good but it seems forced and a little too removed from what I look for in Ska. Nice to see the genre still alive and kicking though.

thats the best part, the album is so far beyond just the Ska style that it sounds so fresh. This album is the reason why I still look for modern ska bands, because it show the genre has the ability to evolve.

Listen to the entire album of Everything Goes Numb, while reading the lyrics (perhaps the most amazing lyrics ever created) because the album is truely amazing in every way. Their second album (Somewhere in the Between) is solid but nowhere near how good as their debut so I suggest waiting before you listen to that one.

I appreciate what you are saying but personally I prefer my Ska and Reggae without bells and whistles. That's what makes it so distinctive to other genres and probably what hampers it's appeal. I know I am being a dinosaur about this definitely. Generally I'm all for diversity and musical evolution, however there are a few things that I hate to see change.
