the best zeppelin album for me is their debut. it was full of the passion, enery and dynamics of a band desperate to make an impact. plus lets face it, any album with dazed and confused and communication breakdown is going to outgun most other albums.

I'll do a list of their greatest albums:

1.Led Zeppelin IV
2.Houses Of The Holy
3.Led Zeppelin
4.Led Zeppelin II
5.Physical Graffiti
6.Led Zeppelin III
7.Presence
8.Coda
9.In Through The Out Door

I'm gonna have to go with Physical Graffiti. IV is great, but i think people remember it just because of Stairway to Heaven. (personally i think Going to California is better) After PG, I'd say IV, I, II, and Houses of the Holy

I don't agree that you can put Led Zeppelin II above Led Zeppelin, because iI think that Their first album was such a breakthrough in rock music at the time. It kind of introduced a way to combine hard rocking blues with a sort of psychodelic sound to make some awesome music, such as dazed and confused, I cant quit you baby, You shook me, etc. The main thing that makes IV so great is how they were beginning to expand their sound, instead of sticking to so much blues derived rock with wicked guitar solos, they started making songs like when the levee breaks, stairway to heaven, misty mountain hop, going to california, battle of evermore etc. It was a very well rounded album with the perfect blend of acoustic and heavier rock songs. What keeps me listening to zeppelin over and over and over without getting tired of them is their diversity. None of their songs sound alike

Good point, Led Zeppelin II was more influential though and it's my 2nd favourite
