And the point is, you can argue for Nirvana all you want. They didn't bring about any great musical revolution, and they weren't the first grunge band like many people try to say. There were a ton of bands doing it before them. And Nirvana wasn't even the best at it. Every kid has their "OmG N1rV@N@ is Th3 roxxors" and I am suprised that boo boo hasn't grown out of it. Kurt Cobain was an average songwriter. If you disagree, post some of his brilliant lyrics. They don't exist. Dave was the only redeming member of Nirvana, and look what he has become. He puts out second rate pop music.

And who has Nirvana influenced?
The disgusting wave of shite alternative bands

Grohl was in the Foo Fighters, i dont care what you say, but they were good in the 90s, only recently has their music become second rate.

And many bands didnt begin on indie labels, especialy in the 60s and 70s, bands had to be on a corperate label to get any kind of attention, after the punk movement that all changed, but even then indie bands like Sonic Youth and Husker Du got no mainstream attention, but in the 90s alternative and indie rock had become more popular than hair metal, and you know what band was responsable?...Take a guess.

I dont need to post any lyrics, you are being a biased jackass, if you dont think Lithium, Aneurysm or Heart Shaped Box has good lyrics, you suck balls.

Even if they hadn't been any sort of positive influence music, they made catchy pop music. They never claimed to do otherwise, in an interview Nirvana said that they made songs like children's songs, they're so catchy they'll stay with you forever. Brilliant lyrics are a matter of contention but there must be something for critics to point to the band as having great lyrics. Not to mention Bob Dylan himself upon hearing a Nirvana song said of Cobain that he had heart.

Dylan said that Cobain inspired him to come out of retirement and write songs again.

Yeah, ****ty songwriter indeed.

what an informed and insightful contribution to the thread. thank you for your input, what WOULD we do without quality posts such as this? So let's hear who you think had more impact than bob dylan, some country singer drawling about how his pick-up truck crashed, his wife left him and his dog died?

Well hot damn boo boo, you are just full of witty comebacks today."YOu suck balls" and "NOOB".....and I thought that you were better than that.....
Just because I don't think "I'm so happy, cause today I found my friends, they're in my head" is the greatest song ever written doesn't discount my opinion...OH WAIT! I FORGOT, you are an elitist proghead.

Not everyone sucks nirvana's balls like you and your crew of Nirvanaholics.
But, I am not allowed to disagree with boo boo, because, if you do "you suck balls" or, as you said to Expletive "you are a ****ing idiot"

Its good to know that we have insightful people like you around here. You don't know a damn thing about music aside from prog and classic rock. So please, quit being an elitist ***, and shut up

Bungalowbill shutup about people being eltist, because frankly you're not far from one yourself and just like boo boo defends nirvana you attack them so I hardly think thats much of an arguement. As for him only caring about prog and classic rock, thats why hes defending nirvana? Last time I checked they weren't either nor were the ramones or the minutemen.
