Are you insane?... Pulp aren't a bad band by any stretch of the imagination... And aside from that... Portishead?... Stereolab?... Manic Street Preachers?... Muse?... Blur?... Oasis?... The Verve?... Stone Roses?... PJ Harvey?... Super Furry Animals?... Primal Scream?... Cooper Temple Clause?... Skunk Anansie?... Feeder?... Britpop has a lot of good bands to it's credit.

And britpop bands are at least better than most of the sh*tty excuse for american bands we have right now.

Yeah but those are the bands everybody thinks of , i`m talking about british pop in general during the 90s , Primal Scream , Massive Attack , The Auteurs , Tindersticks , PJ Harvey , Belle & Sebastian , Stone Roses as well as the usual bands

I`d rate that over any grunge band.

Less not we forget Radiohead.

I like Massive Attack and Primal Scream but they are hardly exceptional. The Stone Roses are very overrated and I can't be bothered with them. Blur was good for about 5 minutes when I was 10, Oasis speaks for themselves.

Expect a huge verbal ass raping coming your way. :D

There have been three bands that have hellishly disapointed me when I first heard them and still do to this day. Those bands are Radiohead, Stone Roses and My Bloody Valentine.

Whatever floats your boat man, but Radiohead and My Bloody Valentine are two of my favorite bands.

hiu 04-28-2006 11:37 PM

I think it's because people told me Radiohead were like the modern day Talking Heads and My Bloody Valentine were like the modern day Velvet Underground. See, I almost creamed my pants just thinking about it but it just didn't deliver. I guess it's a matter of opinion.

Lets see

Nirvana vs Radiohead , Easy choice
Primal Scream vs Pearl Jam , HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Massive Attack vs Soundgarden , Massive Attack all the way
Mudhoney vs Stone Roses , Overrated or not the Roses walk this
Alice In Chains vs New Order , Lets be honest New Order did that mopey shit far better than AIC ever did when they were Joy Division AND they went on to help make dance music mainstream.
Oasis vs Bush , Gallagher boys walk this
PJ Harvey vs Hole , One way contest
Super Furry Animals vs Candlebox , this is getting a bit silly now isn`t it
All those Riot Grrl bands vs Kenickie , OK you can have this one

I make that 8 : 1 to Britpop

hiu 04-28-2006 11:43 PM

I'm not even arguing grunge bands are better than those bands. Half those bands I wouldn't even consider "britpop".
