Hm.

Maybe it's just my school, then.

I don't remember anyone liking rock when I was smaller.

Another dumb ass post. What are they then? ...awaits the latest sub genre.

I actually take that back. They're not nu-metal, though. I would class them as more of an alternative metal. I guess I can take back what I said, and you're right, no new sub-genres.

Btw, what is Nu-metal? I don't think of it as a genre like most do?

I also did, untill I put thought into it. People class Slipknot, System of a down, Limp Bizkit, etc into the genre, but what makes a band nu-metal? They've all got nothing in common.

Nu-metal; use of turntables, industrial music, lyrics are rapped more often, guitar playing is more rhythmic based with an absent lead part, bass plays mostly root notes.... pretty much what I see in nu-metal.

Now to hear the true metalhead's definition; ****ing bull**** generic mainstreaming scene crap. No solos? **** THAT! Slayer FTW!!!!

System of a Down's earlier material I'd consider nu-metal.

And no, I don't like them. Used to, but I guess I just grew out of it. Serj's voice annoys me to no end, though.

SOAD is one of my favorite bands. I seen them in concert a couple of years ago and it is by far the best concert I've been too, I'll add in here that metallica was one of the worst i've been too aside from watching the mars volta open for system. longest 45 minutes of my life. i like every single cd system has put out. i tend to listen to stuff that is different and i think system has their own unique style and bring it with every album. BYOB is an exeption as it sounded like they were going for a radio hit. Sugar is by far their best song.

Really, it's not. The selftitled is generally considered their weakest effort, and to declare any song off it the best song they're ever done ("by far") is kind of insulting to the rest of their output, not to mention ignorant. What's even more surprising is that it comes from someone who thinks themselves a big fan...
