There is no underground movement, It's just pub performers and bedroom warriors flogging a dead horse.
Nobody cares about rock music anymore

I'll believe that when there are no longer several Rock bands selling out arenas still, or selling out their tours in general. If nobody cared. Nobody would be buying tickets to see Rock groups they listen to in a live venue. Plain and simple. If you base your opinion off of the figures Rock groups wracked in back in the day, and the fanbase it had. That's far from enough to declare nobody cares about the genre anymore.

Those many festivals every year supporting Rock, Metal, Hardcore, you name it. They make good money, and often those festivals draw in massive crowds. Come on man. Nobody cares about rock music anymore? You're funny.

There will always be a following.
Doesn't mean my point doesn't stand though. I hardly ever see any critically acclaimed rock albums any more, let alone ones that sell huge amounts.
Most of the rock fans here pretty much talk about bands from 20/30 years ago.

Well, I can't disagree with you on that. Makes me a bit bummed out that the genre I'm most in to, doesn't get what it deserves.

It had almost complete control over the mainstream music market for what, thirty, forty years, it's own world famous Hall of Fame, the biggest music mag in America is named after one of its most famous bands, etc. I think rock music has gotten more credit than the vast majority of other music genres. If it's dying now that's just cause the natural course of modern music evolution is finally calling time.

The band Pop Evil out of Michigan (2001).

I like the first two singles from their album "Onyx" 2013.
Trenches
Deal With The Devil.

Pop Evil won the Radio Award for "Song of the Year" for "Trenches" in 2013.

These guys are one of your typical mainstream rock bands with only a couple of good songs worth listening to.

A half way descent hard rock band at the same time.

The day I stop seeing bands putting out Rock records, or hearing it talked about in general, is the day Rock is no longer a thing.

This whole era where Pop, Rap, Indie, Alternative ruling the musical world won't last...too much **** in the pond, people too unconcerned about supporting the musicians that deserve it, making way for people or artists that just don't care about making that truly great music, to be labeled iconic or revolutionary. Give me a break...

But all this garbage will stay current until people get a clue...I long for the day that I don't hear morons going on about how amazingly talented someone like Kesha is.
