However I may well give 7800 Fahrenheit a listen sometime as I remember that being a little harder and rougher around the edges.
The same thought crossed my mind as a matter of fact, I'm tempted to say I agree with this. Other than generally sounding rougher, the album was a commercial failure, which doesn't at all surprise me because it's not really as commercial as any of their other albums. Personally I'm quite fond of it, here's an old favourite to get started:
