But there was something about "The Soundhouse Tapes", "Iron Maiden" and "Killers" that makes me wanna go back to it more than I do "Number of the Beast" and onwards.

Will always be a Di'Anno fan before Dickenson. Though I admit the latters talent.
Well I always say, that the Iron Maiden debut album was the second best NWOBHM of 1980 and a lot of that is down to Paul Di'Anno's voice. Number of the Beast usually gets far too much credit and I'd say the Bruce legend is really born on Piece of Mind and Powerslave.

I am not saying he is better, I admit Bruce has more a vocal range, I just always prefered Di'Anno.

Has anybody ever heard any of Paul Di'Anno's solo albums, or his stuff with Battlezone and Killers? He's been on a lot of albums since he left/got kicked out of Maiden.

Di'Anno even played here a couple years back in my pisshole city. Missed it though, heard he puts on a great show.

Have not listened to any of his post-Maiden stuff. Will maybe have to one day, have not heard much in the way of good things about them though, but will judge for myself when time comes.

From the video you showed me, it looked great with lots of bashed up cars all over the place.

Yeah I have Paul Di'Anno's Battlezone album Fighting Back from '86 and it's decent enough. Certainly not terrible but it is standard Heavy Metal.

I don't mind Paul Di'Anno too much myself. I wouldn't say I prefer him over Dickinson because it's comparing two different things. Dickinson has the range, whereas Paul Di'Anno has the more...classic Iron Maiden thing going on for the older rockers I could say. Both are good for different reasons.

Though I will say, the self titled debut Iron Maiden album is absolutely fantastic.

I think I might have to go with Bastard on this one. I love Maiden regardless, but their first two just had a punk energy that is totally infectious.
