It seems like all of the Bruce Dickenson albums since his return have their fans, I can`t speak for Final Frontier as this is the only maiden album I haven`t yet heard.

Dance of Death is a total pile of crap. Everytime I put it on, I can't wait for it to end.

It doesn't flow, it's a little all over the place, it plays like a compilation, but in my opinion it's full of strong tracks. Made for radio singles, riffy metal anthems, mellow acoustics. A bit of everything.

I don't think anything since the Bailey era has been a pile of crap. Each record has kept Iron Maiden relevant, which isn't an easy feat after over 30 years.

So why do you keep putting it on?

Believe me there is nothing great hidden inside that album, its just a very mediocre metal album and nothing more.

A Matter of Life and Death was probably their best album since their heydays of the 1980s and a return to form.
Agreed. It is certainly my favourite since Bruce rejoined the band although there are better individual tracks on Brave New World. Still really dislike the production on recent albums though. For a band with 3 guitars they really should sound more chunky.

A Matter of Life and Death was a pretty good album. It had some great songs and some songs even showed a heavier and more progressive side to the band. My only beef with it though is that it is a bit overlong and still doesn't match their classic 80's material.

I`ve felt that as well with their three guitarists, maybe they should get rid of one of them, if its a case of last in first out then its Janick Gers who should go? It would be interesting to see what people think about the abilities of these three guitarist from such an influential band.

At 70 mins I agree, but it seems bands especially the older bands who are past their prime (or maybe the record companies) that they need to put out super long albums so people feel they`re getting their moneys worth. its not a bad ploy when the album is really good, but as most aren`t from these senior bands, then it becomes a real trial to sit through every song.
