Macabre. Preferably Dahmer. Hilarious!

Are Napalm Death, Carcass and Bolt thrower all classed as Death Metal bands? In my day there were the fathers of grindcore.

All of their recent stuff is most definitely death metal. Napalm Death's Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration are early grindcore releases and Carcass's Reek and Symphonies are their grindcore releases. Bolt Thrower's early career draws influences from grindcore but isn't pure grindcore.

I know the early history. I am just dismayed at what they have become. To be fair Bolt Thrower were never one of the major players. Cerebral Fix's first album was a classic but they just degenerated into another boring Thrash/Death band-shame.

I respect Carcass's whole entire career, but I despise what Napalm Death has become. It might just be that I can't stand Barney Greenway, but I can't listen to any of their death metal releases. Bolt Thrower's music has always ruled.

if you compare their first stuff with their latest you'll understand.

anyways, anyone that likes darker styles of death metal should check out arkhon infaustus, imo one of the heaviest extreme bands out there at the moment.

Does anyone have any information about Fleshgod Apocalypse, Intestine Baalism, and Dark Faith's new albums? Looking forward to all of these releases

Therion (Early)
Orphaned Land
Paradise Lost (Early)

And I can't think of any more at the moment.
Doom metal is a completely seperate genre, really.

Death is the best death metal band.

Bolt Thrower is amazing.

Death/Doom is a style that mixes death metal with doom.
It's like doom metal with death metal vocals.
