I thought In Your Honour was quite bland. And that's a shame because I don't mind the old Foo Fighters. Not something I'd listen to regularly, but back then, they had a real identity.

I did read it. There is no good rock music in the charts. That's what I'm saying.

No. The guy asked for popular music. UH asked him why he doesn't just check the charts (as is the logical way to proceed). You responded "because the charts are for entertainment and not real music", or something. That doesn't make any sense at all, given the context. The guy was ASKING about what you call "entertainment and not real music", and hence was directed to it.

popular music = bad. It makes plenty of sense.

Yeah. Along with having had absolutely nothing to do with anything at all.

Anyway. Since the topic is chart music, no discussion of mainstream rock could take place without mentioning the Chili Peppers. There is another thread on them, but while we're at it, I think they pretty much embody the crapness of the current commercial scene. What makes them suck quite so bad is that they have some really great musicianship there, but just churn out redundant rubbish like it's saliva.

The main reason you won't appreciate their lastest album is because you tend to focus heavily on the lyrics of artists/bands

I agree with everything lucy said in her post above yours

it's nothing wrong with focusing on lyrics but I tend to do the opposite......with some bands/artists their lyrics aren't as important to me

Well yeah, the music is of course very very important, just as importatn as the lyrics, but i find that i tend to not like the song if it has really bad lyrics.
unless of course the music is so incredably good that it doesnt matter
