I dont think they saw themselves as part of the grunge movement, they just wanted to be a cool alt band like the Pixies, Melvins and Dinosaur Jr

Well in a way your right classic rock is a radio station. but i think it is a genre of music because on that radiostation Plays all the Classics from back when.

the man is a legend and his band was very good however I have to say that the best artist to come out from the seattle scene of the early 90s is Eddie Vedder, or as Mojo magazine described him the reluctant messiah of rock
