You killed any reason not to get banned for making such a godawful thread.

Houdini was produced by Kurt Cobain, and it's an exellent album.

The Melvins and Nirvana were good friends, they influenced each others work.

And yes, it is possible to influence a band that came before you.

WEll this is pretty off topic but how come nirvana are the only band you REALLY think of when you talk about grunge? because giving them that much credit is like... disrespect towards the other bands out of seattle that are..well BETTER than nirvana... where is the respect? i mean i personally even find Hole better than nirvana....even though courtney is a crack whore...

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

It was Kurt who was heavily influenced by their earlier work when first starting out. Oh and if Pink Floyd covered a Foo Fighters song I guess that makes the Foo Fighters the better band.

And I realise how irrational that example was, but it proved the point.

The Melvins make Nirvana look pale. It doesn't help that Nirvana only released a handful of albums but jesus. In my opinion Houdini>Nevermind. Bullhead= or > Bleach. Gluey Porch Treatments>>>>Nirvanas demo's.

and in answer to the thread question. Nirvana didn't kill music. In fact they didn't kill anything.
And I'd hardly think of their lyrics as nonsense or their music as depressing.
Nirvana..better than the Melvins...? You need to get your head examined.
