But he wasn't doing it, he was merely asking for the opinions of people on which country has produced the finer bands, which I thought was pretty harmless really.

And I wasn't accusing him of it, I merely stated that judging a band in such a manner is rediculous.

"Whic country has produced the most number of talented bands?" would have been a better way to ask, don't you agree?

british rock seems to offer some newer ideas which usally pick up in the US.... but then again i live in america and so maybe british rock is equally influenced by american style

any torries here that can verify?

It's pretty asinine to be debating the wording of a question if you obviously understood it anyway, don't you think?

well with american rock i think it always sounds the same but british rock is always changing and redeveloping itself to get new sounds

I really don't have a preference but American bands do it a bit more for me, but that is my opnion. though I am british and i'll be very patriotic and say that is my fav. but wot about all the other bands from other countries? surely those two r not the only places that make good rockin music?!

what could i say that hasn`t already been mentioned ...there`s no shadow of a doubt..when you think about great Rock Bands the first three or four Bands that`ll come to your mind are Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath..Rolling Stones..and so on..
these 4 bands are household names of rock music..and they are british..get my drift?? :D
