My favourite metallica song is "Nothing Else Matters", and " Enter Sandman" is also really good.
I think their best album is the Black Album,although Master of puppets etc r cool 2 "the Unforgiven" is another one of my favourite songs, but I hate the second version.
Metallica's new stuff is crap compared wiv their earlier music, but overall they rock.

Sigh, I hate threads like this because I get pissed and have to type for the next 12 hours.

Metallica's new stuff is exactly what everyone bitched for, well you get it. Don't ask for aggressive music and then complain its not good. You called their old stuff too pussy, and St. Anger was not soft at all. Its editing was poorly done but if rereleased by Flemming, it would be awesome.

Metallica is one of the greatest bands that has ever existed. They still hold it down live everytime, and they always play what they know people like to hear. They are superior musicians and I feel Hammet is one of the Top 5 guitarists of all time.

Any band, of any genre, that completly restructers said genre should never be regarded as crap. They gave real metal the chance to talk about real issues, and they gave crap metal the boot. I want to know why anyone thinks the following:

1. Their worse than Megadeath? (because you're in need of metal cred?)
2. The new songs were bad? (because they were long and aggresive [ok the lyrics did suck])
3. Why people think the video for "one" was a sell out?
4. What Cliff would have done to keep the band "real metal"?

The problem is their a great band, and their metal. So you have people who actually like music sandwiched in with people who "like" metal. Im sorry you aren't popular, attracive, muscular or social, but just because a band changes its sound doesn't mean you have to run around constantly standing on soapboxes proclaiming you hate them.

No one ever got laid because they were "way metal." Go take a shower.

They have the capability, just not the will power...They haven't really made a great album since the black album.

Will can be outdone by effort. I know a few bands that over do their music for the sake of sounding so good. Too good even. Thats where the feel is lost.

But in saying that I prefer not to listen to Metallica a great deal, they sober my high for exciting bands.

What im saying right now is that metallica just isnt a good band...there not repetitve...but the lyrics do seem to get that way to me..

Well......there are greater voices in the metal business...like people with range and skill like russ adams from symphony X....check out the song candlelight fantasia
