Not sure about best metal solos because it's not a genre I frequent. My fave solos are...
Wilco-Impossible Germany, Nels Cline is the man. Dino Jr-Out There, everything J Mascis does is crazy good. Stones-Time Waits For No One, Mick Taylor kills it. Blind Faith-Presence Of The Lord, this is why people call EC God. |

Sure...Hostile may not have beed the best solo he ever did but, aside from just throwing a name out there, I was considering overall song quality. It's just such an air-tight song, ripped through the solo masterfully and then back out again... awesome. New school has some great stuff out there too... The Human Abstract anyone?
