I've been listening to Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and Car Bomb lately.

Was just listening to some Harvey Milk earlier and I must say I liked what I heard.

The Batlord 11-17-2017 10:53 AM

Yeah they're pretty ****ing alright.

Stephen 12-08-2017 02:18 PM

Not sure why I've overlooked doom for so long but now I've explored the genre a bit I'm loving it. YOB, Sleep, Electric Wizard... is Harvey Milk doom? Anyway loving it.

More sludge than doom but the two genres are kissing cousins. Might I suggest Reverend Bizarre? They're the best thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned.

The Batlord 12-28-2017 10:05 AM

Show me the metalcore that's early proto **** (f.ex. Groundwork, Ringworm, Starkweather, Rorschach, All Out War). Gotta be raw and doesn't have to be metal metal.

The Batlord 01-16-2018 04:08 PM

Show me obscure thrash that's amazing from any time period, though 90s is appreciated. Blue Hawk need not apply unless he can develop some taste.

Not nearly obscure enough.

Wpnfire 01-18-2018 06:24 PM

I've heard Pestillence's first album is pretty good, and I remember reading awhile ago that Xentrix's second album was decent.

MyName 01-23-2018 10:17 AM

Recommend me some Death Metal like this

Heavy, not too fast, angry, brutal

The Batlord 01-23-2018 10:26 AM

This is some nice heaviness that ain't too fast. How much are you into death/doom btw?

MyName 01-24-2018 02:45 PM

Crawlspace is good, Coffins not so much - too bland.

I'm into it quite a lot. Mostly death and black metal. But I have very specific tastes and not much time to listen to music, so I don't know that many bands or songs.

The Batlord 01-24-2018 03:51 PM

I meant death doom metal. Death metal with a doom metal influence, or doom metal with a death metal influence. For someone looking for death metal that's not going a mile a minute it's not a bad way to go.

SmokeAndMirrors 04-28-2018 07:22 PM

Russian Funeral Doom Metal band that use a bit of psychedelic influences. This is ****ing beautiful.

Norg 07-29-2018 10:36 AM

what do yall think of the new Sinsaenum track

The Batlord 07-29-2018 10:44 AM

I think those people are ugly.

Foscor70 08-29-2018 08:55 PM

looking for metal bands with very very high pitched screaming similar to these below-

example 1- bjRU6gaPtS8

example 2 -xsP3Sp1k93Q

example 3 -j913gtJxNsQ

thanks.

Pontic 10-08-2018 02:06 AM

I recommend Mother Love Bone. Some of their songs are a bit slower than Boston.

EPOCH6 10-31-2018 11:33 AM

These two bands are killin' it in Vancouver right now.

Brass Camel is less than a year old and they're already putting on two consecutive headlining shows at the planetarium of all places, one of them sold out in a week.

La Chinga has been slamming for years, they just dropped a new album and they aren't losing any momentum.

Hanuman51 11-12-2018 11:20 PM

Anyone have any recommendations for GOOD modern rock?

Saw Mother Love Bone mentioned and thought this might be a good thread to post this on. I just heard a White Stripes song on Pandora radio which reminds me of Screaming Trees. (The Seattle thing):

I have no issues with artists sounding like others sometimes. I'm usually surprised it doesn't happen more (I mean, there's only so many notes, chords and bridges) Other people hear different influences in The White Stripes one. It got me immediately on the opening notes. Curious if others hear it, or anybody else's influence:

iDontWantToTalkAboutIt 01-27-2019 09:56 PM

Idk....

Have any of you heard of bad religion, its a decently old band. Still good tho. You should listen to their song infected.

drummerboy7816 02-22-2019 08:25 PM

Caligula's Horse. Prog rock dream theater-esque band but more modern sounding.

Would the music in Mandy be considered sludge metal?

The Batlord 03-19-2019 03:23 PM

That Nicholas Cage movie? I just torrented that a few days ago along with Vampire's Kiss but have yet to watch either of them.

WWWP 03-19-2019 03:27 PM

I had to buy it, it ruled

WWWP 03-28-2019 02:15 PM

So did you watch it yet bc I'm still waiting on an answer/further recs

Something Goblin-y

The Batlord 03-28-2019 02:26 PM

Oh I watched part of it but then had to pass out or something. Was ****ing sick. And I guess I'd consider the music some kind of drone?

And "Goblin-y"?
