Anything other than the earlier heavy metal bands like Judas Priest and so on.

I just don't have the time to spare for listening to all the sub-genres of metal too. (Just cant get into most of it honestly).
Yeah I know what you mean, I tried several times to get into black metal, but it just didn't work, cause I just don't like it. Same with grindcore, brutal death metal, and anything other kinds of "extreme" metal except for thrash. Lately, the only metal I've really been listening to is melodic death metal, some thrash, groove metal, and nu metal. idk, I was more into it a few years ago, but I kinda outplayed it like crazy, and thus starting getting into other music to expand my tastes.

I'm looking forward to hearing it, there's always at least a couple of songs I like off all their other previous albums so far.
Get it, it's good as ****, American Capitalist, Under & Over It, and Wicked Ways are prob the best songs on the album.

I've come to realize FFDP is an entry level metal band as they don't really write anything lyrically that doesn't deal with being a tough guy. The lyrics are quite juvenile and it really gets in the way of the nice grooves that Zoltan Bathory lays down. I wouldn't say they're awful, but I'd definitely say they're average at best.

What you really mean to say is that FFDP are crap, but I can see you are just trying to be diplomatic about the whole thing.

What I think he means is that, FFDP have some talent, whether they just don't have enough to be in the same league as the truly great metal bands or they just squander their talent by making generic music for people who aren't really that knowledgeable about metal. That's not quite saying that they're crap, but it's not saying that they're not crap either, I guess.

I know that there is a lot of good bands in the metal sub-genres that I am missing out on and I know that I would like some, if not a lot of them, I guess its just a matter of finding them first. Besides, sometimes a good band will find you .

Like I mentioned before, so far Ive liked at least two to four singles on all of their (FFDP) previous albums, and if the album is as good as you say..I could possibly get into maybe six singles or so off the new album. Thanks IWP!

But that goes to say..that's the way it is with every artist as far as my own personal preference. No matter what genre or style of music I like, its rare to find one artist that has a complete album of ass kicking singles, one and all. The average for me would be maybe 2 or 4 singles I like on any one album by most artist and bands, that's just the way it is.

I like the Nu-Metal genre, even if it is a little to versatile in my opinion. Ive always payed a lot of attention to popular mainstream music anyway so..

Don't bother with nu-metal Soundgarden. Even if you do happen to like 1 album, by the time you get to another, you will already have outgrown the style.

Nu-Metal is a boring, sub par type of music. Only applies to teenage suburban white kids angry caused their parents won't loan them the car. I guess if that applies to you, all the power to you, go listen to it...

Nu-Metal is a sub standard form of psuedo-noise passing itself off as metal. Only people who relate to it are suburban white kids, demographic being 14-16. If you meet anybody over that age demographic who still listens to Nu-Metal and derives any sort of pleasure from it... don't talk to them, nothing they can say to you will ever benefit you or enrich the quality of your life.

I have never met a Nu-Metal fan who was anything more than a one dimensional stereotype of your angst filled suburban teenager, not one.

Don't become that, I like you too much to see you become on of them. Skip Nu-Metal and dive deeper into true metal.

Even the people who made nu-metal have moved on with their lives, minus say Korn.. but they were always awful and no hope left for them. They will just end up on a where are they now show or celebrity rehab or something.

Bastard has said it perfectly.

If you really want to know how bad the bulk of Nu-Metal actually is try sampling most of Korn`s discography, as every release is basically a re-hash of the debut album which is actually great, but the rest is mostly dire and lets not even talk about Linkin Park. Dig a little deeper and you`ll find a myriad of terrible bands such as Papa Roach, Coal Chamber, Sevendust and POD (who actually had some talent but wasted it on nu-metal) and a whole load of post-grunge/alt metal bands that were associated with the scene such as Saliva and Staind etc. If you really want bad, try Static X with their unique formula of nu-metal meets industrial metal

The only band worth sticking with are the Deftones whose first two albums are great and the rest of the discography is decent and their nu-metal/alt metal sound is pretty neat.
