I think one of the cool things about Meg White is that sometimes her floor tom and/or bass drum are tuned so that they create a more resounding sound, instead of the flatter sound they usually make (in the bass drum's case, that is). This sorta makes a bass-esque noise, so it's almost like she's filling two roles at once.

That statement is too steriotypical. It's like saying that in general, black drummers are better than white ones. Most drummers have more than one style of music that they play anyways. The bigger the backround, the more opportunities you can get in your career.

Legends like Buddy Rich can easily immitate what a lot of rock drummers can do. I consider those guys the best. With out them, drumming just wouldn't be the same.

Did you really just say he was wrong only to back him up in your next statement?

Not really, but I guess it could be percieved that way by how I worded it. I don't think that jazz drummers as a whole are any better then rock drummers. However there are some amazingly talented ones. In the second statement I was refering to the pioneers of jazz drumming, not just any generic jazz drummer.

What I should've said is that I think jazz drumming is more interesting to listen to than rock drumming. "Way better" were the wrong words to use, you could argue for hours about who's the best drummer and you'd never come out with a correct answer, because there is really no "best drummer ever." I like listening to jazz drumming more than I like listening to rock drumming, I'll stick with that as my statement on the matter.

I dont mean to come out like a jerk but i just have a serious problem with these poll options, Neil Peart being excluded whipes it clean of any real credibility, and charilie watt's isnt even a top 40 drummer IMHO...Just because hes in one of the top 10 greatest bands of all time dosent mean hes one of the top 10 greatest drummers of all time.
