I would think that in the heavy metal universe, especially the thrash/death metal universe, one wouldn't want a voice. No, it just isn't appealing. I don't hear grit with James. I hear a guy with a really annoying voice trying to sing instead of shout. He has a metal voice, and he should stick to his strengths.
