I think Remission has a lot of prog elements dressed in sludgy production and style. But the instrumental focus, shifts, and concepts are all very prog oriented to me.

Anyone else think The Hunter was pretty bad?

Well I certainly wouldn't count it amongst their best, and really only rate it alongside commercial acts like A7X, not classic/deeper metal acts like themselves, Neurosis, or whomever else.

"The Hunter" is good, but not amongst their greatest (e.g. "Blood Mountain")

The Hunter just isn't memorable. 'Bad' is a term that is difficult to apply to any good act.

'Meh' is a better term. Well produced, well played - 'Meh'.

I'm still enjoying Crack the Skye.

The production was ok, but not near as good as Bayles and really pretty bland and uncharacteristic. Well played? Sure, but they've never played bad.

I thought The Hunter was great. The easiest way I can describe it compared to something like Blood Mountain is the band is now doing a faster / heavier version of Pink Floyd instead of a faster / heavier version of Iron Maiden.

The only part that reminded me of something Pink Floydian was the track "Creature Lives". Especially the laughter at the beginning, seemed like something straight out of Syd Barrett's head
