Carrion Wraith is awesome.

Old Wainds has been around for awhile, took me awhile to remember them, but yeah, one of the better Russian black metal bands.

I also have an album from Thy Disease. It's always great fun listening to the more obscure Black Metal bands such as the ones I've named.

Im not a big "BM" guy but when I was a kid someone gave me a Venom cassette I think it was Possessed. Lol, I guess he didn't like it. I listened to it quite a bit but wasn't a big fan. Back then I listened to anything heavy I could get my hands on.
I did like Dark Funeral back in the day.
"Watain" and "Belphegor" are pretty bad ass.
"Crow Black Sky" is pretty good, they're from South Africa.

Black Metal is my favourite sub-genre of Metal.

I like most of its different variants including Raw Black Metal, Melodic Black Metal, Psychedelic Black Metal, Post-Black Metal, Avant-garde Black Metal, Symphonic Black Metal, Atmospheric Black Metal, Viking Metal, etc.

Some of my favourite Black Metal bands are Sigh, Absu, Ulver, Windir, Mondstille, Immortal, Janvs, Dissection, Burzum, Rotting Christ, Carach Angren, Sear Bliss, Hail Spirit Noir, Watain, Cirith Gorgor, and many more.

I guess some of my favourite things about the genre is the variety, atmosphere, and general "epicness" of the different types of Black Metal.

Hi Squatch

Good list. I agree with you about the variety of black metal. It's underrated in that regard. Most people think of it as a one-trick-pony but it's sooo not.

Hey, Vloomar.

I think if people gave Black Metal more of a chance and tried different types of Black Metal before writing the whole genre off after a couple listens, that they'd then realize how diverse the genre is, which in my opinion has something almost anyone could at least enjoy a bit, contrary to popular belief.

I just really dislike it when Black Metal is criticized for being "random noise, with too much fuzz" when a lot of Black Metal isn't like that, and the kind that is closer to being really raw can become very enjoyable if you know what to look for in the songs.
