You sound like me. Early Slayer, Bathory, and Sarcofago are all eighties BM bands, which is pretty much my fav type of extreme metal. If that's where you're at then this album list will give you pretty much everything you need to know on the subject. It's long as ****, but it's comprehensive and it's loosely done from most important to least, so it's not too hard to go through if you just want a few bands as a crash course.

But here's a few more to give you some idea of what's up.

You know listening to this Sarcófago album and seeing that new avatar you have there batty makes me realize that not only am I totally not bothered by any of the satanic lyrics of the first-wave black metal I've heard so far, but I actually find some of it really ****ing cool.

I know I mentioned previously that some of Exhorder's lyrics bother me, but that's really one of the few bands other than the occasional Venom song that bothers me.

Also, I'll check out that list, thanks.

The thing with Venom, and this is true for Exhorder as well, is while the lyrics are no worse than any true First Wave Black Metal band, the vocals aren't that indecipherable growling so when I can actually hear Masturbating on the deeds we have done from "Welcome to Hell" ..I'm just not a fan of that.
That being said, I'm pretty much over it now and I like that song.
