I wonder if the person who recommended this actually thought Blizzard of Oz would stand a chance.
|
I would vote, but there's no point. We all know who the winner is.
|
With me placing my vote its 8-0 and a complete landslide victory for Sabbath. I thought a Randy Rhoads fanatic may give the Ozzy album a slight chance! Anyway next up courtesy of The Batlord more like The Bat-Mite are two early hair metal albums (you were warned with the Twisted Sister video)
Motley Crue Shout at the Devil 1983 http://image.kazaa.com/images/65/888...he_Devil_3.jpg Versus W.A.S.P W.A.S.P 1984 http://www.sweetslyrics.com/images/i...15165_wasp.jpg Note this is not the correct album cover, as I couldn`t get a suitable size, so I put a pic of the band & hope you like it. |
sitting this one out
have heard neither their pictures already scares the bejeebers out of me, and puts me off downloading them |

some Bon Jovi (mostly the power ballads), most Posion singles, all Enuff Z'Nuff and Skid Row's Slave to the Grind and Def Leppard (if that counts) i love W.A.S.P.'s Animal but damned if I'm gonna download a whole album Motley Crue I only really like Dr. Feelgood (song) |

i love all the corny power ballads as well - White Lion's When the Children Cry, Alias' More than Words Can Say, Bad Company's If You Needed Somebody those were the songs I first to learnt to play properly |
Not a fan of either, but I suppose I'll go with W.A.S.P. **** Like a Beast trumps any of the Motley tracks, therefore W.A.S.P. wins.
W.A.S.P. - 1 Motley Crue - 0 |
I`ve always had a soft spot for the sleazy, catchy and tacky sound of Motley Crue....even though I know they`re real garbage and if it had been their debut album on here they would`ve won. W.A.S.P on the other hand, often get lumped in with the hair metal brigade mostly from their image, but music wise they were more aggressive than most of the other hair metal acts and most importantly they put out a big metal sound (arena metal) akin to other bands of the period Accept, Riot, Manowar and Anvil to name a few and their debut album is a good album.
Motley Crue 0 W.A.S.P 2 |
Shout at the Devil is a classic that I still listen to.
I think The Last Command is the best WASP album and i've not heard that in about 15 years so I have to give it to the Crue. Motley Crue 1 W.A.S.P 2 Oh and for anyone voting because of 'Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)' It wasn't on that album. |
I expected this to be another landslide vote.
W.A.S.P is better than MC in pretty much every way (I don't like either band though). Most of the songs in SATD sound like they could be filler tracks in the WASP album. Plus the gimmicky live shows by WASP were way more interesting (whipping a captive woman, fake blood, etc). WASP - 3 Motley Crüe - 1 |

I'll go with Motley Crue over W.A.S.P any day.
Motley Crue - 2 W.A.S.P - 3 |
Motley Crue - 2
W.A.S.P. - 4 No contest for me, do not like Motley Crue, but W.A.S.P. as said had a fun stage show and wrote music that was fun as well. They are like The Cramps to me. |

W.A.S.P.'s first album is pretty awesome, but Shout at the Devil is just one of my fav metal albums. Say what you want about their later ****, it certainly deserves the hate, but their first two albums were quality.
Motley Crue - 3 W.A.S.P. - 4 (Bastard of Young forgot to add his vote I think) |
I'll give my vote to Crue. I think their first two albums were tremendous, especially Too fast. My sister used to date Blackie Lawless/Steven Duren a total ******* just for the record.

But "Hot for Teacher" is a great song........now Sit Down Waldo!

Testament. Glad there doing new music. Can't wait to here it.

It currently stands at 4-4 so somebody who hasn`t voted yet break the deadlock and I can put up the next battle. |
okay i'l break it
WASP - 5 Motley Crue - 4 on account of image alone |

Next up another battle courtesy of The Batlord and this is the first ever 3-way battle on here and its the Swedish Death Metal (Gothenburg scene) showdown between three of its defining bands.

Motley Crue: 5 W.A.S.P.: 5 And I think the song "Fuck Like a Beast" truly sucks. The re-release of W.A.S.P. includes it and drags the album way down. Shock value can only go far. The rest of the album is far better than that song but it still can't beat "Shout at the Devil" |
i've heard enough melodeath for a while already, really
haven't heard the At the Gates or Dark Tranquility albums, though I have Whoracle (whose name was too impolite for a store owner to say) but i have heard ATG and DT's other stuff, so it's safe to say In Flames - 1 DT - 0 ATG -0 |

The voting should be:
At The Gates 1 In Flames 1 Dark Tranquillity 0 |
