I may not be the biggest Killswitch fan, but this song ****ing kills. The riffs are immaculate and the chorus is one of their best. If everything they did was of this quality then I'd be a stone cold fan. Straight up.

I don't give a **** if this is one of the most famous songs in metal history, sometimes a song just needs to be given its due, regardless of whether or not you've heard it five million times or not. The riffs to this song blast harder than 99% of atomic bomb tests, let alone metal songs. Quite possibly the exact peak of thrash.

The vocals are kind of cringe-worthy, but musically this prog thrash is on point: obtuse, chaotic, but intense.

What is it with prog/tech thrash bands and bad singers? I'd stayed away from Coroner for a long time because of them, and also a lack of interest in prog anything, but now I'm sorry I did. This band has got badass riffs for ****ing days to go along with all the left-field turns and proggy chaos. I guess the vocals aren't the point anyway.

I prefer Jesse over Howard though. Howard suited the bands sound for the time he was with them. But I felt that Jesse overall just fits the entire catalog the band has better. I agree about the song. One of their best.

I'd honestly take Howard. Early Killswitch could be downright brutal, but the difference between that and the melodic choruses sounded jarring and inappropriate. The first dude was great when he wasn't "singing" though. Howard doesn't have nearly as good a scream, but his clean singing goes so much better with where KE went, and since the band is playing more to that side of their sound the finished product sounds more cohesive.

I may not be as enthused about their later material, but early Bring Me the Horizon was brutal and chaotic as ****. Some might say their songs are a haphazard mish-mash, but they're nothing but fun as far as I'm concerned. I'd unironically put this over a fair percentage of "true" death metal albums in fact.
