I guess I like the imperfect sound of Jesse and his clean singing more than Howards more refined, controlled clean singing...like, he just sounds like he knows how to use his voice. I like Jesse' scream better as well. Brutal scream for brutal sounding music. Howard did well enough too.

You listen to Howards new band Devil You Know? It's not bad stuff at all.

Hahaha, that's funny. I'm not a fan of early Bring Me The Horizon. I like their newest, and the one before it more than anything they did before the two albums. I'm not saying their early material was bad. I just didn't care for it.

Just going to share my fondness of Myles Kennedy. Probably my favorite Rock singer of the past 15 or more years. Dude has range, just an overall really great voice for Rock/Hard Rock music. This song here is probably my favorite from Slash and his solo stuff he does with Myles.

And in my own opinion Myles sings GNR songs better than Axl does.

And for the hell of it. He even does Velvet Revolver. Not surprising. It is Slash up there with him. Scott Weiland was a great vocalist. And I think Myles does Slither and Fall To Pieces from Velvet Revolver extremely well.

There are better bands for that kind of metalcore, so I don't really need to "slum" it with early Killswitch. They're certainly not bad by any stretch, and without Jesse's clean singing I'd like them a lot more -- just like how I'd really love As I Lay Dying if they didn't use those exceptionally lame clean vocals -- but their first two just aren't unique enough for me care about them when I can find bands that do it better.

Later Killswitch, on the other hand, have a slicker sound that meshes well with the clean singing, and almost a rock'n'roll approach to metalcore which stands out.

I have not. Clean singing?

I've trying giving Sempiturnal a couple chances, but it just bores the snot outta me. I actually kind of love the lack of proper songwriting on their debut debut EP, This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For, and then the LP Count Your Blessings. Most of those bands don't have much variation in their songs and they end up becoming predictable by the middle of the first track on their albums, but BMtH are just so haphazard that it gives their music a chaotic cacophony that almost feels like an unintentional parody of Gorguts. Their songs aren't particularly memorable, and it all starts to become tiresome halfway through an album, but they stay far more entertaining far longer than bands like Suicide Silence or Chelsea Grin.

First time I heard My Last Serenade. I was hooked on Killswitch. Still a stellar song even now for me. I get what you mean though with the contrast between era's for Killswitch and their vocalists.

Eh, yeah. I mean I do hear what you're talking about with the early BMTH material. But I guess it bores me more? I mean I gave their new album an almost perfect score because for the genre they belong to, doing something like that to me showed how much better of a band they are now, comfortable transitioning to an almost pop rock type of sound but making it sound interesting and almost fresh even.

Howard's new band does have cleans. I'll post up a few tracks form their two albums real quick.

Two from the first album to start to show you a contrast of sound you'll hear on it should you find yourself interested.

And now the new album. I wanted to post my favorite song the band has, called Let The Pain Take Hold. But nowhere on YouTube.

They sound like Killswitch-lite. If I'm gonna listen to something like that then I'd rather go for Demon Hunter. Not my favorite band, but highly decent.

I've been listening to Demon Hunter since just before they put out their first album. So long time fan right here haha. Definitely a better than average band for me.

I actually find some Devil You Know to be a bit harder hitting than some Killswitch. Overall, Killswitch is a heavier, better band though. I say Demon Hunter is better than both though, purely from my own personal taste.

As of late. Black Tusk is my jam band right now. Really dig the imperfect sound they have. Crunchy, heavy, sludgy, dirty.
