I don't like growling vocals when they're basically just glorified burps.

My homeboy who I've been constantly making mix CDs for has expressed an interest in cheesy 80s metal, and I'm about to hit him hard with a CD of godliness. Oh my god is this a song from the gods.

Oh my god, a Teutonic thrash metal album that I like, and it isn't by Tankard?

I know I just posted this, but this song gives me a serious Gorguts' Obscura vibe. There's a gazillion weird riffs in this song that go all over the place and that's just like what Gorguts did on Obscura.

Where's Grindy at? He needs to listen to this. At the very least it should appeal to a Darkness Descends lover.

Can't say I get a strong Obscura vibe from it. The riffs, while kinda twisted, don't have that dissonant, alien quality. But this is pretty cool stuff and I'll definitely have to check out the album. Thanks for the rec.

For some reason I always forget about Psychofagist when going on another hunt for Obscura-type stuff.
They're probably the closest thing I've ever found.
