In my teens I explored lots of metal, I've played guitar in several college bands back then. I've explored the whole general spectrum of metal, I know the lingo and community but I'm always up for recommendations.

Let's talk then. What you about in thrash? I love me some Overkill as well, and consider them probably the best current thrash band of any start date. What I've heard from their new album has me happy.

I agree they've remained at the top of their game for practically their entire career! Though I admit I haven't heard the last four albums in their entirety, I drift between different genres all the time, currently I'm getting back into thrash. I absolutely love Overkill's first five albums in particular, Killbox 13 and Immortalis where also really great (and the conclusion? to the selftitled Overkill saga, with "The Brand", soo good!!)

I pretty much grew up on thrash, but I'm still digging into it after all these years. I had the benefit of no money or internet connection when I was really getting into the genre to hamstring me, so I don't know as much as I'd like, but it's still kind of my home genre.

I'm not really a fan of post-Barlow Iced Earth. But I loved those early albums a few years ago. burnt offerings was my **** for a while

And I have good memories of Night of the Stormrider too, even if the vocalist wasn't brilliant.
