Metal Church followed up their debut with this equally good and very thrashy power metal affair.

Every now and again a gem of an album comes up (a new find) and this Crimson Glory debut is it. As Jack said its not really power metal, but this album and band came up several times in various best ever power metal albums lists. Lead singer Midnight sounds exactly like Dio on some songs and this is one killer of a metal album, and as The Batlord said its amazing this band didn`t go onto achieve some sort of stardom, I suppose it was timing as hair metal was the big thing at the time, but one thing for certain, is that this album was light years ahead in terms of quality of anything the hair metal pack put out.

One of the most important power metal albums ever recorded and generally regarded as the album that gave birth to the European Power Metal Movement. The band originally wanted to release it as a double, but their record company released it as two seperate albums.

Lead singer of Helloween sounds amazing like Bruce Dickinson.

Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I is awesome, but Part II outclasses it. The recording was better and the songs were better. It really brought out the goofy, poppy, happy nature of the band. Part II is just one of the happiest metal albums I've ever heard. It's like Maiden on ecstasy.

Thats a great summary of both albums, when I finished listening to Pt.2 today (hadn`t heard it about 3 years) I actually felt the same as what you`ve written above, its probably one of the most upbeat metal albums ever recorded.

I mean c'mon! Doesn't this song just make you wanna do embarrassing white boy dances?

Does anyone else like the German band Rage? They're kind of a mix of NWOBHM stylings and Power Metal delivery. They're a little more.. I dunno.. aggressive than most Power Metal bands, kind of like a toned down version of Nevermore. They've been around for yonks but I've really only been listening to their newer albums from the last 10-years or so. That being said, if you're interested in the sound I'd recommend their 2002 album Unity.
