I voted for progressive metal. I like a lot of Dream Theater's stuff as well as the proggier (if that's a word :P) output of Iron Maiden.

I voted doom, viking/black is great too \m/ Falkenbach \m/

i like all metal sub genres except metalcore numetal and grindcore.

If you like Death metal then Grindcore will come, I assure you. It's not as ear-friendly as other subgenres of metal, but with time you'll see the sheer beauty of it.

For the 8 or so yrs I've been listening to death metal, I haven't been able to stand grindcore, I actually dislike it more the more i hear it.

Anal ****, Napalm Death and Pig Destroyer are the ones i remember the names of, but most of it was AC and PD sounding. Too much of a hardcore punk influence for me.
