I didn't mean all of Neurosis' albums, but I've heard enough of them to lose interest in fully exploring their discography.

Alright, partially to add battles to fill up the brackets for the final battles, and partially because symphonic metal is possibly just good enough of a genre to warrant inclusion, I'm building a list. I've got six bands so far...

Symphonic Metal

1. Therion - Theli
2. Nightwish - Wishmaster
3. Septicflesh - Communion
4. Arcturus - La masquerade infernale
5. The Monolith Deathcult - Trivmvirate
6. Rhapsody - Symphony of Enchanted Lands

Ideas? Am I going to have to reduce myself to Dimmu Borgir?

Although I'm not big on standard symphonic metal I love the sound of black symphonic metal.

Is there enough good Black symphonic metal bands kicking around to make a list, or is Dimmu Borgir pretty much the staple?

I suppose I could add Emperor's Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk.

No that's okay, I was hoping that maybe there was some awesome symphonic black metal albums out there that I have never heard off.

Sadly though I think the genre is probably like every other black metal genre with one band being completely undistinguishable from another.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Once again, my top picks seem to run in parallel with the votes. Anyways, double play this time, with Minsk and A Storm of Light going out.

8. Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along the Highway
7. Inter Arma - Sky Burial
6. Rosetta - A Determinism of Morality
5. Old Man Gloom - Seminar III: Zozobra
4. Isis - Panopticon
3. Neurosis - Through Silver In Blood
2. The Ocean - Precambrian
1. Pelican - The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw

Vote 4 off. Vote ends April 11.
