I've had a change of heart.

Death.

My cracka!

Death - Human

I wasn't honestly sure which album I wanted to win at first. Altars of Madness has been my goto answer for years, but that Nile album has me by the nads these days. It goes on a bit too long, but I could definitely see myself calling it my fav DM album ATM. Although Lykathea Aflame might just be better at Nile than Nile is, even if they don't have those epic, long songs.

Yes, Lykathea Aflame are way better at Nile than Nile is. So are Melechesh.

Voting off: Nile

Yea, but Lykathea Aflame make up for not having those long, epic songs by having longer, epicer songs

Had I known how awesome that album was when I was making this list it would certainly have made it harder to choose. It would definitely have knocked off Deicide, but having that and Nile might have been redundant.

You're just getting into Lykathea Aflame? Yeah, Elvenefris was on my top ten list that Trollheart reviewed last fall. I love that album.

Yup. I'd heard about it forever but just never got around to it until yesterday, actually. I haven't formed enough of an opinion on it, other than that it's awesome, but they definitely seem to combine all of their influences more fluidly than Nile, and they go in more directions as well. Gonna be a fav I think.
