That's kinda like advocating the merits of not thinking about something enough to get at the truth, and then promoting something wrong in light of that.

No. But I might start a discussion like that if people were to say something like, "Wait, are you talking about God or the numinous? We need to make that distinction."

But to an extent, assuming that there are anything like universals in that realm is a fiction, and why would we kowtow to it and pretend that it's anything more than it is, re using it to refer to a "favorite"/"best" distinction? True, he definitely is not in the top echelon of rock singers for multiple reasons, one being his constant breaths after each line, another is he can sometimes deliver a very whiny performance. But he definitely has talent. The major reason I gave him a mention was because of how well he can compliment the sound of his band. Some singers who have much more talent, for example Geoff Tate, tend to not be able to accomplish that as consistently as Matt.
